The 14th season of the perennial Emmy-winning “The Amazing Race” began with what appeared to be perhaps the most likable, if not inspiring, cast to date. But as the race for $1 million wore on, tempers frayed, tension mounted and the ugly side of several competitors was revealed in all of its reality TV glory.
